Time to Adjust

Today was a down day for me trying to adjust to the time change.  I managed to sleep for close to 12  hours, so at least I'm partially on the same time zone...night is now day.  Although I did have to sneak in a two hour nap at 2pm...not even our little 3 year old needed a nap!!

First item on my to-do list today was to figure out a plan of activities for my stay in Melbourne. I thought I'd check out the Great Ocean Road but what I soon realized was that being summer, things fill up quickly, so doing a tour wasn't an option. Looks like we'll take a day to explore Melbourne and another to drive down the coast to take in some beaches.  No beaches today however, as very high winds and rain swept into the area making it the perfect day to stay inside...although I'm looking forward to taking a dip in the pool at Sue & John's before I leave.

By about mid morning after Finley had some playtime...Chief also got into the fun by singing along with Sesame Street...we decided to go for a drive and check out You Yangs Regional Park.

It's a small park area with lots of mountain bike trails and picnic areas, but not very many views of the town.  We did however come across an echidna (spiny anteater) walking across the road....first time seeing one of those in the wild.

We spent the afternoon watching some cricket...I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that a test match can take up to 5 days!!!  Finley also demonstrated her expert play dough and IPad skills and Chief and Kenya loved hanging out looking for belly rubs.

Had another great meal for dinner thanks to my great hosts and ended the evening watching a movie at home. Looking forward to venturing out tomorrow and checking out the city of Melbourne.

Until then....
